Overview

Alta’s newest luxury lodge is hiring live-in servers for Swen’s upscale yet casual restaurant. Prerequisites

Description

On site housing is shared among employees in rooms that accommodate 3 to 4 individuals. Each room has its own bathroom and is furnished with bunkbeds, dressers, and a TV. In addition to housing employees are provided three meals a day and an Alta ski pass all included in a bi weekly room and board payroll deduction of $250. At the successful completion of employment, the employee will be reimbursed $900 for the cost of their Alta seasons pass.

Responsibilities

  • Greet and escort customers to their tables
  • Present menu and provide detailed information when asked (e.g. about portions, ingredients or potential food allergies)
  • Prepare tables by setting up linens, silverware and glasses
  • Inform customers about the day’s specials
  • Offer menu recommendations upon request
  • Up-sell additional products when appropriate
  • Take accurate food and drinks orders, using a POS ordering software, order slips or by memorization
  • Check customers’ IDs to ensure they meet minimum age requirements for consumption of alcoholic beverages
  • Communicate order details to the Kitchen Staff
  • Serve food and drink orders
  • Check dishes and kitchenware for cleanliness and presentation and report any problems
  • Arrange table settings and maintain a tidy dining area
  • Deliver checks and collect bill payments
  • Carry dirty plates, glasses and silverware to kitchen for cleaning
  • Meet with restaurant staff to review daily specials, changes on the menu and service specifications for reservations (e.g. parties)
  • Follow all relevant health department regulations

Description

The Snowpine Lodge will be Alta’s newest luxury hotel scheduled to open in the middle of December 2018. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager will be responsible for the daily shift operations of the housekeeping department. The Assistant Housekeeping Manager directs and works with employees to ensure property guestrooms, public space and employee areas are clean and well maintained. Completes inspections and holds people accountable for corrective action. Position assists in ensuring guest and employee satisfaction while maintaining the operating budget. This position reports to the Facilities Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Ensures guest room status is communicated to the Front Desk in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Inspects guestrooms on a daily basis.
  • Obtains list of rooms to be cleaned immediately and list of prospective check-outs or discharges to prepare work assignments.
  • Inventories stock to ensure adequate supplies.
  • Supports and supervises an effective inspection program for all guestrooms and public space.
  • Understands the impact of department-s operations on the overall property financial goals and objectives and manages to achieve or exceed budgeted goals.

The Resident/Front Desk Manager assists the Front Office Manager in administering front office functions and supervising staff on a daily basis. Front office areas include Front Desk Agents, Bell/Valet/Ski Valet. Position directs and works with managers and employees to carry out procedures ensuring an efficient check in and check out process. Ensures guest and employee satisfaction and maximizes the financial performance of the department. The Resident/Front Desk Manager is responsible for all after hours functions in the hotel. This position includes living accommodations in a new studio apartment as well as partial board.

Maintaining Guest Services and Front Desk Goals

  • Manages day-to-day operations of the Front Desk.

Resident Responsibilities

  • Responsible for greeting guests after front desk hours.
  • Guest point of contact after front desk hours.
  • Ensure all inter-lodge procedures are followed and inform guests of inter-lodge.
  • If necessarily make transportation arrangements for guests needing quick departure due to inter-lodge.
  • Able to perform and communicate emergency procedures in the event of an after -hours emergency.
  • Responsible for the after -hours security of the building.
